Anhui Forges Ahead | Feidong: The Hot Secrets of a "Temperature‑Control Little Giant"

In the sweltering summer heat, Anhui Huanrui Heating Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huanrui") located in Feidong County, Hefei City, presents a vibrant and bustling scene.

Inside the factory amid the roar of machinery, the "heat" does not stem from high ambient temperature, but from the fast‑moving production‑line heating cables.

1. High‑Performance Self‑regulating Heating Cables Selected for Exhibition at Anhui Innovation Pavilion

"This is our high‑performance self‑regulating heating cable," said Ji Chengzhi, Founder and Chairman of Huanrui. "At the beginning of this year, we achieved mass production of products with a temperature‑resistance rating of 260°C, injecting fresh momentum into our growing order book."

What is a high‑performance self‑regulating heating cable? Ji Chengzhi explained: "When energized, the cable generates heat. Its resistance rises along with ambient temperature, and its output power decreases automatically, so that temperature is stably maintained within the preset range."

"At the end of last year, our 110°C temperature‑resistant heating cables were successfully applied to the Fuxing CR450 EMU. They guarantee reliable operation of water tanks, drainage pipes and other equipment when the train runs in frigid zones, greatly mitigating safety risks," Ji Chengzhi said with pride.

Thanks to its precise temperature‑control performance, the self‑regulating heating cable has been widely adopted in petrochemicals, high‑speed railways, infrastructure and other sectors. It acts as a "safety belt" for industrial development across key economic fields. Huanrui has spent more than ten years tackling technical challenges to develop this product.

2. Workers Operating Heating Cable Sheath Extrusion Equipment

"Before 2014, domestic heating materials generally reached only 85 °C heat resistance. Core materials were monopolized by foreign suppliers, and China’s electric heat‑tracing industry was mostly confined to the low‑end market," Ji Chengzhi recalled. "We refused to stay at this level and resolved to achieve breakthroughs."

In 2014, Ji Chengzhi defined a new corporate mission for Huanrui: "Replace imports with home‑grown technologies, and serve global industries with Chinese solutions." From that year onward, the company concentrated resources on R&D. Through industry‑university‑research collaboration, it set up the Anhui Provincial "115" Industrial Innovation Team, and established a post‑doctoral research station as well as an Engineering Technology Research Center for high‑performance self‑regulating heating cables.

Technological research is full of hardships, but persistence delivers progress.In 2018, Huanrui made major breakthroughs in key areas including heating‑material R&D, production and testing processes, and thermal‑control system solution design, realizing successful domestic substitution. Its full range of heating products was upgraded, and the company transformed from mere product sales to an EPC (full‑process service) model covering design, manufacturing, installation and after‑sales support.

In 2023, Huanrui achieved full‑scale mass production of its 200°C high‑performance self‑regulating products. Empowered by new products and technologies, the company broke foreign monopolies in high‑end markets and won its first framework tender for heating‑cable materials issued by China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

In 2025, the mass‑produced high‑performance self‑regulating products of Huanrui reached a temperature‑resistance rating of 260°C. This means Huanrui has reached the current international advanced level in self‑regulating heating‑material technology.

Technology defines the voice of tech‑oriented enterprises. Up to now, Huanrui has obtained 1 international invention patent and 16 domestic invention patents. It has built a digital workshop, and its testing laboratory has acquired national CNAS accreditation, enabling full‑chain quality control from raw materials to finished goods.

Meanwhile, the company has obtained globally‑recognized certifications including Russia EAC, EU CE, Bureau Veritas (BV) France and CSA Canada. As a representative Chinese manufacturer, Huanrui supplies premium electric heat‑tracing products, services and solutions to more than 50 countries and regions worldwide, including Russia, the United Kingdom, Poland, Finland and Brazil.

Huanrui’s thriving operation mirrors Feidong County’s drive for high‑quality enterprise development.At the end of 2023, Feidong County issued "Measures to Promote High‑Quality Economic Development in Feidong County". Formulated based on local realities, the policy focuses on boosting sci‑tech‑driven enterprises. It sets concrete measures in six dimensions: encouraging scientific and technological innovation, expanding effective investment, stimulating consumption and circulation, scaling up financing support, supporting enterprises to grow larger and stronger, and optimizing the business environment.

Huanrui’s growth matches Feidong County’s goals for high‑quality economic development.With support from the Feidong County Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Huanrui has been awarded multiple honors, including the MIIT‑recognized National Specialized, Refined, Differential & Innovative "Little Giant" Enterprise, Anhui Provincial Manufacturing Champion Cultivation Enterprise, Anhui Provincial Service‑oriented Manufacturing Demonstration Enterprise, and Anhui Provincial Innovative (Pilot) Enterprise. It has also been granted qualifications such as Anhui Provincial level Digital Workshop, Anhui Provincial Industrial Design Center, Anhui Provincial High‑quality Industrial Product and Anhui Provincial New‑Product Certification.

In terms of fiscal support, over the past three years, the Feidong County Bureau of Industry and Information Technology has allocated RMB 1.224 million in policy‑based subsidies to Huanrui for high‑quality development, among which RMB 224,000 covers loan interest discounts. These funds effectively cut financing costs and fuel corporate growth with tangible fiscal backing.

"Going forward, we will focus on key industrial layout, take leading enterprises as the driver, encourage enterprises to increase independent innovation, and promote clustered development of upstream and downstream industrial chains to lift Feidong County’s industries to new heights," stated Ye Shaofei, Deputy Director of Feidong County Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.

According to statistics, over the past three years, Feidong County has disbursed RMB 10.58 million in incentives to 66 enterprises for constructing technology centers and industrial design centers; distributed RMB 14.15 million in subsidies for brand cultivation, SRDI enterprise development and new‑product R&D to 105 enterprises; and provided more than RMB 53 million in loan‑interest subsidies to 357 enterprises.
